Can’t even begin to be more happy about this product. I didn’t even know they made these. It’s good for my parakeets because they now have the ability to stretch their feet out instead of just being on perches all day. I find them sitting on here 80% of the time and they took to it SO QUICKLY!! Love this and I plan to buy more! This adds variety of exercise for any birds’ feet; it’s essential !!!! I wish they sold these in pet stores.

BOTH parakeets love this thing...took them awhile, but I often find them BOTH on it, "face" to face. :)
UPDATE: changed 3 stars to 5...once I bought the flight cage...with so much room, and so "far" to fly (kidding!), both birds took to the platform like champs. Will buy again after I submit this post. Original Post: I tried using it in a small cage ( 27" x 14") but removed it when the one bird was totally freaking out. I've just moved them to the "Prevue Pet Products Wrought Iron Flight Cage with Stand F040 Black Bird Cage, 31-Inch by 20-1/2-Inch by 53-Inch" which I am totally happy with (assume they are too! they sure seem to be enjoying the extra space!) and I've installed this shelf - so far, 3 hours in...they haven't ventured near it, but the one bird is not acting like it's a snake! Will update if/when they decide to use it!

Bought 2 of these so far for my cockatiel and they are very long lasting. He loves them and sits on them most of the day now instead of His perches. Will purchase again. Came wrapped and protected very securely so there was no damage.

Better than what I was expecting. I purchased two of these for my birds. I purchased one that sits out from the side of the cage and the other sits against the side of the cage. They were a bit smaller than I was expecting but they will work for my smaller birds. I've added pictures of each along with measurements so that you can see how big these actually are. I would recommend for small birds. I wouldn't use for anything larger than a parakeet. Anything larger wouldn't be able to sit on them comfortably.

My green cheeked conure like it and his nail grow so fast every 3 month have to take vet and they charge us for easy check up automatically comes with it that’s 40$ and nail trim 7$ . Even I have nation wide avian insurance they only cover once a year for full exam up to 180$. usually back to me 77$ for one exam .Other easy check up and nail cut wasn’t back to me nothing or 30$ . (2019 update Vet price up a lot this year i going same vet 6 years .127$ for culture and nail trim at my vet check up price up now and nail cut is easy exam includes 80$ since i got this perch i took my bird only twice a year instead of 4 time a year ! no problem using this and still good shape. My cockatiels and parakeet likes too now.) My bird never like vet so I bought sand flat perch for try . It was good choice for took off very sharp tip off . But my bird scard blight orange . yellow was not too bad .I got random color. took my bird couple weeks to get used to it . His nail tips are start not sharp and not stuck our clothes ,I feel safe and order two more . And save money for extra nail cut cost at vet . My birds happy to hear don’t have to go vet often too lol.

Nice perch that is also an emory board for nails and beaks. I received mine in a very nice Orange color and packaging was great. Now, I'm waiting for my 2 tiels to warm up to it and stop staring at it. One of them did rest one foot on it while holding on to the cage bars with the other foot. My cockatiels are explorers first, so watching them try it out will be fun. Also, I had no issue with attaching this perch to their cage. The last perch i purchased from the pet store was either poorly made or crafted with a small start up cage with thin bars in mind. My cage is huge with bar spacing being the exact for a cockatiel or conure. So, thank you to the seller for such a well made product and having an idea with birds in mind. I will update on the beak and nail filing.

I needed a larger platform for my parakeet than just the normal flat stumps. She loves this thing, it has a rough surface so she likes to scrape her seer and beak on it. The material looks strong, but i'll find out soon enough as she starts to chomp away at it. The mounts seem pretty sturdy as well. I guess my only gripe is the color is not what was pictured, doesn't really matter much to me though. Pro's: Sturdy, rough surface for my bird to clean herself, a large surface for her to sleep and chill on! Con's: None really, just color may be different than what is pictured.

Sturdy and lots of room for our cockatiel
It took our bird about a week to use this perch but she really likes it. I had to coax her on it at first with her veggies (because it was new to her) but now she needs no coaxing. I really like the fasteners as they are strong and no worries about it falling. I will be ordering another one so she will have 2 in her cage. The surface is a little gritty which is great for her feet.
